The standard templates that come with your Zazzle gallery are ok but if you want to stand out from the crowd you need to customize your gallery. However, this is quite easy and just a few easy steps can instantly transform your site. Here’s how:
Step 1:
Near the top of your gallery’s home page, to the right of your gallery’s title, you will see a link that says “Manage my store” (see picture).

Customize your Zazzle Gallery step 1
Click on this and you will then be at the next step… almost there!
Step 2:

Customize your Zazzle Gallery step 2
Now there are two places you can click here, either one achieves the same end, so go ahead and click on either (‘appearance’ or ‘Go edit your appearance’. This takes you to step 3.
Step 3:

Customize your Zazzle Gallery Step 3
Now, first let me point out a couple of important things here. First, you will see I have highlighted an option that, if you are a novice, you should avoid, and that is the ‘Advanced Store Customization’ option. Unless you are an expert at XHTML and CSS then do not use this option. Doing so could mess up your store completely!
Secondly, the importanrt step here is to change from using a theme to using your own image in the header. So, firstly, click on the option at the top left to ‘Creat a custom look’. This will then allow you to change the ‘Store Header Image’ (see my screen-shot above).
By clicking on the highlighted link you will then have the option to use an image you have already uploaded to Zazzle or to upload one from your pc. Once you have done all this, the thumbnail will change to reflect your image and you will be able to decide if it looks ok. If not, then click on the ‘Change image’ link and choose again.
Once happy with your choice, click on SAVE CHANGES at the bottom right (yellow button) and once this step is completed you can then return to your gallery homepage. (You will see a message at the top of the page after saving your changes and that’s the signal that its safe to go ahead and leave the editing page).
That’s all folks, you have successfully changed the appearance of your site. Later tutorials will cover further customization.
